A-Reece – Zimbali (Official Video)

Words By Phil Chard

Since signing with Ambitiouz Entertainment the style and persona of A-Reece has evolved from being a young lyrical backpacker to a verbally dexterous trap artist. Though it may have confused and put off some of his early fans, the evolution seems to be working.

Just a week after releasing his new album Paradise, The South African has dropped a video for his latest single Zimbali.

In a video (which seems to be produced by the newly minted Ambitiouz Visuals) we see the young rapper living out the dreams of classic rags to riches story, which include but are but are not limited to inviting woken in high heels onto the golf course. Dress code for who?

Saudi – There She Go Featuring A-Reece (Official Video)

by Phil Chard

Ambitiouz Entertainment has made an indelible mark on the South African Hip Hop scene in the last 18 months. Not content with the domination they have been enjoying via their two marquee artists the label has diversified their portfolio with a string of new signings. Two of those acts are the trap rapper Saudi and the young lyricist A-Reece.

The two young talents link up on the song There She Go where they give the 2016 rendition of Have You Seen Her (granted it is somewhat more graphic). The video was directed by Unclescrooch and Ofentse Mwase

A-Reece – Mgani

by Phil Chard

A-Reece has been touted as one of the most promising young acts in South African Hip Hop for almost two years now , after his song Capper’s Picture, caught the industry’s attention. After singing to the legendary producer pH’s RawX stable the future looked very bright for the young Pretorian teenager. Sadly, after releasing The Forever King Mixtape in 2013 and the Browniez EP in 2014, production from the young artist seemed to stagnate.

Surprisingly a few months ago it was announced that A-Reece was now affiliated with Ambitiouz. Since then the artist has released two official singles on the stable that has been sweeping up all the awards recently namely, Couldn’t featuring Emtee and now his song Mgani (Mngani?).

The mellow song contains a sample of DeBarge’s A Dream which was in turn sampled by a number of artists including Tupac, Joe Budden, Fabolous and now A-Reece.

Miss Pru Dj – Ameni Feat eMTee, Saudi, Sjava, Fifi Cooper, A-Reece & B3nchMarQ

Ambitiouz Entertainment have bulldozed their way into the South African Hip Hop scene and climbed their way to the top in a way I haven't seen since Ghetto Ruff's and Native Rhythms dominance at the turn of the millennium. In 18 months the label has gone from relative obscurity to having their two marque acts - Fifi Cooper and eMTee dominating radio and award show nominations.

Not content with relying on the success of its two young front line acts the label has also signed a number of new acts such as Miss Pru DJ, Saudi, Sjava, B3nchMarQ and somehow also managing to scoop up A-Reece who was formally signed to PH's Raw X imprint.

The ever growing clique link up on Ameni, directed by Uncle Scrooch in a video inspired by supernatural powers and spirituality as the Ambitiouz crew fights off a group of evil spirits intent on capturing a spirit in a gold leotard ? That each member of the label is tasked with protecting.
