Part Time Cooks & SoulChef – Smash Town ft Nucksal (넉살) (Official Music Video)

by Phil Chard

Part Time Cooks have just released the first video off their recently released 7:30 Album. As I declared in my review of the album this is definitely the duo's best body of work since they formed.

However though Smash Town was byno means my least favourite song on the album it is a surprising choice for a first single, but despite that it fits the brand Part Time Cooks have built for themselves with their 3 projects. I'm sure the feature from Nucksal (넉살) will also help give the song traction in Korea.

The video is a highly entertaining affair where the duo spend the night wining and dining a duo of blow up dolls only to be hustled in the end. You just gotta watch it.

Part Time Cooks – Keep Cooking (Official Music Video)

by Phil Chard

Despite promoting their latest release 7:30 Part Time Cooks just released a video for Keep Cooking. A song that appeared on their last project Baker's Dozen. Its a very Lo Fi video which holds alot of sentimental value to the group.

This is the last video we were able to shoot with the whole Part Time Cooks team before we had to part ways. The ball was really rolling after our first project was released and then, out of nowhere, our vocalist Joe Rollins was re-assigned and had to move back to America and our DJ, Que, went through some bullshit and abruptly had to leave the country we call home without much notice. Shot by Peter Burns with a go pro and probably a lot of beer

Part Time Cooks Remind Us That Black Lives Matter In Their Video for Giant

by Phil Chard

It seems a week, or even a day cannot go by without hearing about another black American being gunned down the police. The way in which black lives are treated with such little regard by those tasked to protect and serve is a draining, horrifying and traumatic reality that all melanated people have been forced to confront in a very painful way.

The killings occur so frequently that when Part Time Cooks had finalised the release of their new video for Giant that Alton Sterling had just been senselessly murdered by police in Louisiana. As I type this post, I have just watched a video of another black man being murdered by the hands of police, this time it was Philando Castile who suffered the brutal misfortune of being black in America.

The video for Giant by Part Time Cooks was directed by Richard Rose . The concept for the song taken off their last offering Baker’s Dozen is simple – Saul and Black Moss experience the same day and circumstances on a split screen , the twist being that Saul experiences some of the mild everyday microaggressions that black people have to constantly endure as we the audience watch this all unfold on TV.

Album Tweet Review | Part Time Cooks – 7:30

by Phil Chard

interview-with-independent-rap-duo-part-time-cooks-1.jpg

The Hip Hop duo of Saul Goode and Black Moss collectively known as Part Time Cooks recently released their third full length project titled 7:30, this time they partnered with New Zealand producer Soulchef to handle all of the music and the results were impressive. The album is still on brand with the Part Time Cooks message - young adult men who want to get drunk, party, and get hgh, who also have a streak of social consciousness and a love for women. But, on this effort the combination of incredible production from SoulChef, coupled with their evolving rap styles makes for a potent release.

Check out our detailed twtter review of the album below.
